Procurement Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our team and support the procurement function by sourcing materials, equipment, and services in a cost-effective and efficient manner. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely purchasing activities while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and supplier performance. Candidates with experience in the chemical manufacturing, oilfield chemicals, petrochemical, or industrial sectors will be highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, quotation evaluation, purchase order creation, and supplier coordination.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with qualified suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable delivery.
  • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and service agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including Operations, Production, Warehouse, Finance, and HSE to understand purchasing requirements and ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Conduct market research and supplier benchmarking to identify new sourcing opportunities and reduce procurement risks.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address delivery, quality, or service issues when required.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, and purchasing documentation.
  • Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, and cost-saving initiatives for management review.
  • Support inventory optimization by coordinating with relevant departments to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and supplier performance.
  • Assist in vendor qualification and supplier audits when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years and maximum 5 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Materials Management.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, oilfield chemicals, petrochemicals, specialty chemicals, or industrial manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
  • Experience using ERP systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
  • Experience dealing with industrial suppliers and technical materials is preferred.
