Job description

Job Purpose

To lead and supervise production activities during assigned shifts, ensuring that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and with the required quality standards. The Shift Leader is responsible for managing team performance, coordinating resources, resolving issues on the floor, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Supervise production staff during assigned shifts and ensure smooth operations.
  2. Allocate tasks and monitor team performance to meet production goals.
  3. Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards.
  4. Monitor product quality and coordinate with quality control for inspections.
  5. Report production output, downtime, and shift activities to management.
  6. Coordinate with maintenance and logistics teams to resolve issues quickly.
  7. Train and mentor operators to improve skills and productivity.
  8. Implement and monitor shift schedules, attendance, and discipline.
  9. Escalate major production or staffing issues to higher management.
  10. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in production processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Training in production supervision or lean manufacturing is an advantage.

Experience and Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in production or manufacturing, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of production processes, machinery, and safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication in English and Arabic.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
