Technical Instructor

The Technical Discipline Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical and practical training within their assigned technical discipline, ensuring learners develop the knowledge, practical skills, behaviours and competencies required to perform safely and effectively within the industrial workplace.

The Instructor will deliver classroom-based instruction, workshop practical exercises and competency-based assessments using approved curricula, training standards and assessment methodologies. The role supports the development of Saudi national workforce capability through structured vocational education and competency assurance programmes aligned with industry best practice.

The Instructor shall promote a positive safety culture, maintain high instructional standards and contribute to continuous improvement across the training programme.

The Technical Discipline Instructor will play a key role in maintaining international accreditations and course standards, driving learner performance, and supporting the successful achievement of project KPIs and client expectations.

Technical Disciplines

We invite candidates from a range of construction, civils and engineering disciplines including:

• Welding
• Pipefitting
• Scaffolding
• Electrical

Instructional Delivery

• Deliver classroom, workshop and practical training within the assigned technical discipline.
• Prepare lesson plans, practical exercises and instructional materials.
• Deliver competency-based instruction using approved curricula.
• Demonstrate industry best practices and safe working techniques.
• Conduct demonstrations and supervise practical workshop activities.
• Ensure all practical training complies with relevant HSE requirements.
• Adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varying learner abilities.

Student Assessment

• Conduct formative and summative assessments.
• Observe and assess practical competency against defined standards.
• Complete assessment documentation accurately and objectively.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to learners.
• Recommend remedial training where necessary.
• Maintain assessment records in accordance with project procedures.

Workshop & Practical Training

• Prepare workshops and training equipment before practical sessions.
• Inspect training equipment and report defects.
• Ensure training consumables are available.
• Maintain housekeeping within workshops and training facilities.
• Promote safe use of tools, machinery and equipment.
• Support preventative maintenance of training equipment.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Promote a positive safety culture at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all HSE procedures.
• Conduct toolbox talks where appropriate.
• Report hazards, unsafe conditions and incidents.
• Ensure learners correctly use PPE.
• Stop unsafe work whenever necessary.

Student Support

• Monitor student progression and intervention requirements
• Support examination readiness or, workforce competency standards
• Promote student engagement and retention

Compliance & Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate records and reporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with project QA/QC procedures and client requirements
• Support audits, inspections, and accreditation requirements where applicable
• Participate in instructor development activities.
• Attend standardisation meetings.
• Contribute to curriculum improvements.
• Maintain technical competence within assigned discipline.
• Keep current with emerging technologies and industry best practice.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

Education

Pathway 1 - Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant Industrial/Vocational Education, or Engineering/Science, plus minimum 4 years of industrial training experience, at least 2 years preferably in the skill area to be taught.

Or,

Pathway 2 - Associate degree in relevant Industrial/Vocational Education or equivalent qualification, plus minimum 6 years of industrial training experience, at least 2 years preferably in the skill area to be taught.

Or,

Pathway 3 - No formal academic degree, but craft-certified, with minimum 8 years of experience in the specific field, at least 2 years preferably in the skill area to be taught.

Teaching Certification Professional trainer certification

A Professional trainer certification from an internationally recognized certification or licensing organization is preferred.

Language Requirements

English speaker. Arabic language would also be advantageous.

• High level of computer proficiency required
