Conduct regular maintenance checks on chiller systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency, identifying issues before they escalate.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system problems in chiller units, implementing timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Install and commission new chiller systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
Monitor refrigerant levels and manage the safe handling and recovery of refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations.
Collaborate with HVAC engineers and other technicians to optimize system design and performance during upgrades and retrofits.
Maintain detailed records of service performed, parts used, and equipment history for accurate tracking and reporting.
Perform routine cleaning and servicing of condenser and evaporator coils to enhance heat exchange efficiency.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in HVAC or refrigeration preferred to ensure foundational knowledge.
Certification from a recognized body, such as EPA Section 608, to handle refrigerants safely and legally.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other technical equipment to troubleshoot chiller problems effectively.
Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and control systems, ensuring accurate repairs and installations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with clients and team members effectively.
Ability to work independently and within a team, demonstrating leadership potential when training less experienced technicians.
Performs maintenance and repair of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
