Job Scope:
As a Storekeeper at the hotel, your primary responsibility is to manage the hotel's inventory, oversee stock control, and ensure efficient storage and distribution of goods and supplies. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and facilitating seamless operations within the hotel's storeroom.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and quality of items received.
- Maintain inventory records, update stock levels, and track inventory movements to manage stock replenishment and prevent stockouts.
- Stock Control and Rotation:
- Organize and store goods in designated storage areas, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and storage conditions.
- Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and stock rotation practices to minimize waste, reduce spoilage, and optimize inventory turnover.
- Issuance and Distribution:
- Process requisitions, prepare goods for issuance, and coordinate the distribution of supplies to various departments within the hotel.
- Monitor stock requisitions, track issued items, and ensure timely delivery of goods to meet operational needs.
- Inventory Reconciliation:
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and investigate variances to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Generate inventory reports, analyze stock levels, and identify slow-moving or obsolete items for proper disposition or reordering.
- Supplier Coordination:
- Communicate with vendors, place orders for replenishment, and coordinate deliveries to ensure timely supply of goods.
- Verify delivery receipts, check goods against purchase orders, and address discrepancies or damages with suppliers as needed.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety in the storeroom, adhering to hygiene standards and proper storage practices.
- Monitor storage conditions, handle hazardous materials appropriately, and comply with health and safety regulations in storing goods.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, stock movements, and issuance activities using inventory management systems or manual logs.
- Update inventory databases, input data on goods received and issued, and generate reports for inventory analysis and audit purposes.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Previous experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or warehouse management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with inventory management software, MS Excel, and basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in managing store operations.
- Good communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a customer service-oriented approach in coordinating with internal departments and suppliers.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices, stock management techniques, and storage procedures for various types of goods and supplies.
