Senior Buyer

The Senior Buyer is tasked with overseeing and enhancing procurement strategies for an e-commerce platform to ensure optimal balance between inventory, profitability, product availability, and warehouse readiness. Performance metrics such as sales, sell-through rates, margins, stock coverage, conversion rates, and returns are analyzed to inform purchasing decisions. Collaboration with suppliers is essential to secure favorable pricing and terms of delivery, including shipping, guarantees, and return policies.

Responsibilities include managing inventory levels in coordination with planning and logistics teams to minimize stockouts or excess inventory. Quality assurance of products is critical to ensure compliance with brand standards and required specifications. Coordination with marketing and operations teams is necessary to ensure product readiness for promotions and campaigns.

Qualifications include over 5 years of experience in procurement or retail management within e-commerce or retail sectors. Strong analytical skills for data analysis and informed purchasing decisions are required, along with a solid understanding of key concepts such as margin, sell-through, inventory turns, forecasting, and SKU management. Excellent negotiation skills and strong relationships with suppliers are essential.

The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously is crucial. Proficiency in analytical tools and Excel at an advanced level is preferred (ERP/BI experience is a plus).
