Chief Accountant

A prominent restaurant group is seeking a Chief Accountant for full-time employment in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate must have direct and strong experience in the multi-branch restaurant sector.

Main Responsibilities

* Lead the accounting department and oversee the accounting cycle and monthly and annual closings.

* Review and correct the Chart of Accounts and ensure the integrity of accounting entries and classifications.

* Prepare P&L for the company and each branch and cost center, and analyze the reasons for profit and loss.

* Prepare Budget & Forecast and compare actual results with the budget and analyze variances.

* Manage and review Cash Flow and obligations and liquidity.

* Conduct and review supplier and bank reconciliations and sales points and sales.

* Review accounts and reconciliations of delivery applications, commissions, discounts, campaigns, and value-added tax.

* Supervise Food Cost and recipe costs, raw materials, packaging, and waste.

* Analyze Actual Cost vs Theoretical Cost and identify reasons for cost and consumption variances.

* Review Recipe Costing and ensure the accuracy of item costs and link them to inventory and purchases.

* Analyze the profitability of items, branches, and various sales channels.

* Review product pricing in branches and delivery applications based on cost, tax, commissions, and targeted profit margin.

* Monitor inventory, stock, waste, and damaged goods and consumption variances.

* Develop internal control procedures and financial policies.

* Follow up on zakat, value-added tax, and related regulatory obligations.

* Submit clear financial reports to management to assist in decision-making.

Basic Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

* At least 5 years of experience in financial accounting, including direct and confirmed experience in the multi-branch restaurant sector.

* Actual experience as a Chief Accountant or in a supervisory financial position.

* Strong experience in Restaurant Accounting, Food Cost, Inventory, Recipe Costing, P&L, Budget & Cash Flow.

* Practical experience in reconciliations and accounting for delivery applications.

* Proven ability to conduct supplier and bank reconciliations and sales points and resolve variances.

* Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting systems and POS systems.

* A practical personality capable of diving into details and verifying numbers and documents, not just preparing reports.

* Willingness to work full-time in Mecca.

* Transferable sponsorship.
