Job Scope
As the Assistant Director of Finance at the hotel, you will work closely with the Director of Finance to assist in overseeing the financial operations, planning, and management of the hotel's financial resources. Your role involves supporting financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and compliance activities within the finance department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with USALI and company policies.
- Assist Director of Finance in analysing monthly profit and loss variances and taking corrective action where required.
- Oversee the timely preparation, accurate calculation, and submission of all direct and indirect taxes and statutory returns in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation, ensure timely resolution of open item and submit to Director of Finance for review.
Budget Management Support:
- Support the development and monitoring of budgets, revenue projections, and expense controls in coordination with the Director of Finance and the finance team.
Financial Planning and Forecasting:
- Contribute to financial planning processes, including strategic financial goal setting, analysis and forecasting.
Compliance and Audit Support:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls in all financial operations. Support financial audits, reviews, and regulatory filings by coordinating with auditors and internal teams.
- Provides support to the Director of Finance in conducting property self-assessments.
- Engagement with Internal / External Audit in calloboration with the DOF, ensuring timely support to auditors and closure of audit findings.
Contract Management
- Supports the Director of Finance in the process of executing, monitoring, and closing contracts.
Cash Flow Management Assistance:
- Aid in cash flow management activities, liquidity planning, and capital allocation strategies to optimize financial resources.
Owners relations:
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of all Owner reporting requirements.
- Represents the Director of Finance by attending Owner meetings in their absence.
Technological and automation mindset:
- Proven experience in implementing and optimizing procurement and finance systems.
- Expert in COA mapping across multiple systems, including PMS and POS.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with the finance team, department heads, and senior management to support financial initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to finance staff members to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or MBA qualification is a plus.
Previous experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or finance roles within the hospitality industry.
Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management abilities.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
