Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cost Monitoring and Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze costs related to operations, procurement, inventory, and expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Track variances, trends, and key performance indicators to assess cost control measures and financial performance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to align with cost control objectives and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with department heads to establish budget targets, monitor budget performance, and provide financial insights.
- Inventory Management:
- Implement inventory control procedures, conduct regular inventory audits, and reconcile inventory records to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Optimize inventory levels, reduce wastage, and streamline procurement processes to control costs effectively.
- Vendor Management:
- Evaluate vendor contracts, pricing agreements, and procurement terms to negotiate favorable terms and pricing for goods and services.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality standards, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
- Cost Control Policies and Procedures:
- Develop and implement cost control policies, procedures, and internal controls to promote accountability, transparency, and compliance with financial regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews of cost control processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare cost reports, financial analyses, and variance explanations to communicate cost performance and trends to management.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on cost analysis to support decision-making and cost optimization strategies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with department heads, finance team members, and senior management to align cost control initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, cost-saving initiatives, and process improvement efforts to drive operational efficiency.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; additional certifications such as CMA or CPA are advantageous.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Previous experience in cost control, financial analysis, or related roles within the hospitality industry.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in cost accounting principles and practices.
- Knowledge of inventory management, procurement processes, and vendor negotiation.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and data analysis tools.
