We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Cum QA/QC Engineer to manage and supervise engineering projects along with quality assurance and quality control activities related to fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning works. The candidate shall possess strong technical knowledge in MEP systems i.e HVAC, Refrigeration, Compressed Air, Fuel, Gas process understanding, estimation, BOQ preparation, welding inspection, project execution, and documentation control.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in project coordination, QA/QC procedures, material inspection, site supervision, and engineering software such as Primavera and AutoCAD.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Engineering & Coordination
- Review project specifications, drawings, technical documents, and client requirements.
- Understand complete process systems including mechanical, piping, tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, HVAC, and utility systems.
- Prepare project execution plans, schedules, manpower planning, and material tracking.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Monitor project progress and ensure completion within schedule and budget.
- Attend project meetings and prepare technical reports and progress updates.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and applicable codes.
Estimation & BOQ Preparation
- Prepare detailed costing, estimation, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Analyze drawings and technical specifications for quantity take-off.
- Prepare material requirement calculations and procurement support documents.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and supplier offers.
- Coordinate with procurement and planning teams for material and resource allocation.
QA/QC Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures as per project requirements.
- Prepare Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, Quality Plans, and checklists.
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and international standards.
- Conduct incoming material inspection and verification.
- Monitor fabrication, welding, installation, hydrotesting, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with third-party inspectors and client representatives during inspections.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, and closure documentation.
- Ensure calibration status of inspection and testing equipment.
Welding & Fabrication Inspection
- Supervise fabrication and welding activities as per approved WPS/PQR standards.
- Verify welder qualifications and welding procedures.
- Conduct visual inspections and coordinate NDT activities including:
- PT
- MT
- RT
- UT
- Monitor fit-up, alignment, dimensional inspection, and surface preparation.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, and other applicable standards.
Installation, Testing & Commissioning
- Supervise equipment installation and site execution activities.
- Coordinate pressure testing, flushing, balancing, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare commissioning checklists and testing reports.
- Ensure all systems are functioning as per design and operational requirements.
- Support handover documentation and final project close-out.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project engineering and QA/QC activities.
- Experience in fabrication, piping, pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, HVAC, or industrial systems preferred.
- Knowledge of international standards such as:
- ASME
- API
- ASTM
- AWS
- ISO
- NFPA (preferred)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of fabrication, welding, installation, and commissioning processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of material standards and inspection procedures.
- Experience in project estimation and BOQ preparation.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Primavera P6
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office
- ERP systems (preferred)
Preferred Certifications
- CSWIP / AWS Welding Inspection Certification (preferred)
- ASNT Level II (preferred)
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification
- Primavera Certification (preferred)
