Steel Structure Estimation Engineer

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Other engineering disciplines are not preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare material take-offs (MTO) based on drawings, BOMs, and client technical documents.
• Calculate material weight and surface area for structural profiles.
• Estimate material costs based on material grade, including connection bolts, anchor bolts, leftover materials, and scrap.
• Estimate production man-hours/ton, production duration, and production costs based on the structure and fabrication requirements.
• Calculate painting material and labour costs or hot-dip galvanizing costs.
• Estimate indirect expenses and administrative overheads.
• Calculate packing and transportation costs.
• Prepare unit cost and total project cost.
• Apply the profit margin, calculate the final unit rates, and total project price.
• Prepare techno-commercial offers covering:
• Scope of work
• Material specifications, including fasteners
• Fabrication and welding procedures
• Inspection and QA/QC requirements
• Material finishing requirements
• Installation procedures
• Commercial terms and pricing
• Exclusions
• Coordinate with other departments, including Sales, Design, Production, Procurement, Planning, and QA/QC.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the steel structure fabrication industry.
