Project Risk Manager
Hatch, in partnership with Ma’aden, is delivering major mining and infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a Project Risk Manager to lead risk management activities from project planning through execution, ensuring effective governance, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with project scope, budget, schedule, and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements and maintains the project risk management framework
Plans and facilitates assessments/risk analysis/risk reviews of project risks
Maintains constant collaboration and communication with the project leadership team and other stakeholders
Incorporates identified risks into the Project Risk Register, ensures risk data integrity and quality
Develops project risk reports and dashboards
Coordinate with risk owners and the Project Controls Team to ensure risk control measures are included in the project budget and schedule and are implemented in a timely manner
Provide Risk Management training to team members, contractors and other project stakeholders
Provide guidance and support to the project leadership team to develop and maintain a risk-aware culture
Drives risk management continuous improvement and implements lessons learned
Plans and facilitates integrated Schedule and Cost Quantitative Risk Analysis (contingency analysis)
Plans and facilitates hazard studies, i.e., HAZOP, Construction and Commissioning safety studies
Qualifications and requirements:
Post-secondary engineering and business degree from a recognized university combined with a professional risk or project management designation
Minimum 10 year experience in mega or large projects risk management role, ideally in the mining sector
Experience in workshop facilitation involving large groups of people
Expert knowledge in the application of International Risk Management Standards and Industry Best Practices, i.e. ISO 31000, AACE International, CII, PMI.
Experience of the risk management process and know how to adapt it to the project needs;
Knowledge of risk management tools such as Safran, @Risk, Active Risk Manager, Omega 360, etc
Good understanding of and experience with project management processes, project execution strategies, cost estimating and project scheduling principles, tools and techniques, decision analysis and scenario planning
Ability to advise project stakeholders on the management of their particular risks.
Ability to manage competing priorities effectively, to be resourceful and to use time as a resource - routine requirement to work to deadlines imposed by the project might require completion of unplanned risk management activities in a short time frame.
