What You'll Be Doing:
- Ensures that all aspects of projects are managed effectively and efficiently.
- Handle cost engineering functions involving budget preparation, cost control, forecasting and cost reporting.
- Tracking, updating, and monitoring of cost control, and scheduling functions on projects.
- Support cost control as per contractual procedures, objectives, and requirements
- Contact and support Project Controls and Scheduling individuals in role execution.
- The Cost Control Engineer/Specialist may gain further experience by rotating through Estimating, Cost Engineering, and Planning/Scheduling assignments.
- Development and management of the cost control systems to provide project and company management with accurate financial information.
- Preparation of monthly invoices to Clients in accordance with the Contract requirements.
- Reviews, process and certifies the monthly sub-consultancy and other service invoices for payment in accordance with its Service Agreement.
- Maintains payment ledger and prepare monthly billing estimate and accruals.
- Facilitates the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS), interfacing with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance Departments as needed.
- Performs some independent analysis of data stored in the project management and cost control systems. Creates presentations using graphs, diagrams, and other exhibits to illustrate cost status.
- Assist Program/Project Manager s to update project budget.
- Updating the system with cost forecasts.
- Interact with client counterparts and management to plan and schedule cost presentation.
- Develop the schedule, including resources and costs if required.
- Determine schedule, estimates and work scope to execute and complete deliverables within budget.
- Develops and maintains less complex critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and forecasts status against an established baseline schedule.
- Assesses the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages.
- Reports schedule status to all levels of project and Company management as well as to the Client.
- Support in generating graphical and tabular reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Visualize and report on buffers / contingencies.
- Execute schedule change management process to approve changes.
- Ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the Client.
- Implements and maintains an Earned Value Management System on the project.
- Analyzes cost and schedule performance indicators (CPI and SPI).
- Prepares and maintains project forecasts and status updates.
- Provides assessment with corrective action recommendations to management.
- May provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to others in the resolution of project control problems.
- Attend meetings as required and updating meeting minutes and action trackers.
- Identifying and resolving project issues and conflicts.
- Performs other functions/responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
- Electronic file management of documents such as Business Contracts, Sub-consultancy contracts, and other essential documents.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering or construction Management, Finance or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of related work experience.
- Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field.
- Proficient PC skills including a working knowledge of various Project Controls software, Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Power BI.
- Must have good knowledge in using Project Management software tools, scheduling software, and cost management software.
- Must have strong analytical skills and be able to think strategically.
- Experience in facilitating and administering multidiscipline meetings with large groups of stakeholders.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Understanding of the importance of timely reporting and the energy to deliver against demanding deadlines.
- The ability to build strong relationships and support colleagues Enthusiasm, ideas and drive to grow, learn and develop within our organization.
