Purpose: The Field Engineer role is to oversee on-site installation activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations, ensuring timely project delivery and the efficient, safe, and high-quality installation of mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Review Drawings, Specifications, and Documentation to ensure designs align with project requirements and coordinate modifications with the design team as needed.
- Coordinate with Client for Work Clearance to obtain necessary approvals from the client to proceed with project tasks without delays.
- Conduct Inspections to Ensure Compliance with Design and Quality Standards to verify that equipment is installed correctly and meets design and quality requirements.
- Estimate Manpower Needs and Appoint Sub-contractors to assess site staffing requirements and hire sub-contractors to meet project timelines and quality standards.
- Ensure Safe Work Environment and PPE Compliance to maintain a safe site by ensuring workers are equipped with necessary personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with Contractors for Testing and Commissioning of Mechanical Systems to ensure mechanical systems are tested and commissioned according to standards.
- Provide Technical Guidance and Solutions During Construction to address issues on-site by offering timely solutions to keep the project on track.
- Develop Work Standards and Measurement Programs to create site mock-ups and procedures to standardize work processes and improve efficiency.
- Conduct Site Visits to Analyze HVAC Systems and Recommend Design Improvements to assess site conditions to propose HVAC system improvements and new design recommendations.
- Verify Maintenance Tasks by Technicians and Sub-contractors to ensure maintenance work is completed as per standards, checking the performance of technicians and sub-contractors.
- Train Sub-contractors on Correct Installation Practices to educate sub-contractors on proper installation techniques to minimize errors and improve quality.
- Coordinate Work Inspection Requests and Resolve Snag Comments to ensure timely inspections and address any feedback from clients or consultants promptly.
- Track Civil Clearance and Ensure Early Mechanical Service Installation to prioritize mechanical services installation to ensure timely civil clearance approvals.
- Coordinate with Suppliers for Material Submittals to ensure proper material documentation and approvals for timely procurement.
- Follow Up with Sales Team for Timely Equipment Delivery to ensure equipment is delivered on time to avoid delays in installation.
- Attend Client Meetings and Report Site Progress to provide regular updates to clients and project managers on site progress to maintain transparency.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures while promoting high standards to ensure a productive, ethical work environment by following policies and maintaining safety.
Experience and Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in field engineering, particularly in installation or construction projects (mechanical, HVAC, or electrical systems).
- Familiarity with project inspections, quality control, and safety management.
- Involvement in testing and commissioning mechanical systems to meet specifications.
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal communication).
- Strong technical skills in mechanical systems, installation, and construction processes.
- Knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking project progress, scheduling, and reporting.
- Ability to manage resources and meet deadlines while coordinating with project teams and external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore)
