1. JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: Petrophysicist
2. JOB PURPOSE
The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organisation's perspective.
To plans and direct petro-physical surveys and analyses, review historical logging data, perform petro-physical interpretation of individual wells, identify oil zones and formation water invasion and propose target zone for new well drilling and/or workover operations while supervising petro-physical operations at well site to ensure that the data quality and the Contractor’s operational performance meeting Company’s technical and safety requirements.
3. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Policies, Processes and Procedures
Assists in the implementation of section policies, processes, and procedures to ensure all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.
Day-to-day Operations
Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Contracts Management
Evaluations of Opportunities
Undertakes independent and collaborative Petro-physical evaluations of the highest technical standard for asset specific nature in support of Exploration & Development.
Petro-Physical Activities
Reporting
Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.
Budget
Assists the Supervisor in annual budget preparation, review and control on expenditures, in line with annual departmental budget and annual operational plans.
Safety, Health & Environment
Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
Additional Responsibilities
The post holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the post.
4. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal
Communicates with Section Supervisor and G&G team on a daily basis. Regularly coordinates with other Division heads, Reservoir Engineers and Drilling Engineers. Frequently coordinates with other departments like ESD, PMD, etc.
External
Regular coordination with Contractors, Service providers, External Inspectors and Auditors.
5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & LANGUAGE SKILLS
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in petro-physical surveys and analyses, review historical logging data and perform petro-physical interpretations.
Languages
Minimum English language required is KJO L5 – Upper-Intermediate.
