Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor / Claims Engineer to join our team. The Quantity Surveyor / Claims Engineer will be responsible for commercial management, quantity measurement, cost control, variation assessment, claims review, and contract administration for infrastructure construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and commercial expertise in measurement, contract documentation, claims analysis, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.

Responsibilities:
Prepare and review quantity take-offs, BOQs, measurement records, interim payment applications, variation orders, and commercial reports.
Review contractor claims, change requests, substantiation documents, correspondence, delay notices, and supporting records.
Assess quantities, rates, contractual entitlement, cost impacts, and supporting evidence in coordination with engineering and project controls teams.
Support contract administration, claims evaluation, variation negotiation, dispute avoidance, and commercial risk tracking.
Coordinate with contractors, project managers, planners, engineers, document control, and client representatives on commercial matters.
Maintain accurate records of quantities, payments, variations, claims, site measures, and commercial correspondence.
Prepare cost reports, claim assessments, recommendation notes, and commercial status updates.
Provide recommendations for cost control, contract compliance, claims mitigation, and commercial best practices.

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership is preferred.
Proven work experience of at least 7 to 10 years in quantity surveying, cost control, contract administration, claims review, and infrastructure projects.
In-depth knowledge of measurement, BOQ preparation, interim payments, variation orders, cost reporting, claims analysis, and contract documentation.
Familiarity with contract forms, project specifications, construction methodologies, and dispute avoidance practices.
Proficiency in using Excel, cost management tools, quantity take-off software, AutoCAD/PDF measurement tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical, negotiation, reporting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Quantity surveying and claims management experience, preferably fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
