Job description
Set up and operate manual machines (lathe, milling machine, grinder, etc.) to produce parts to required tolerances.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
Measure, examine, and test completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Select appropriate tools, materials, and machine settings for each job.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized.
Troubleshoot machining problems and make adjustments as needed.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve technical issues.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
Proven experience as a manual machinist in a manufacturing or repair environment.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tools.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
