Cost Controller / Estimator (Mechanical)

Estimation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical works, including piping, structural, equipment installation, fabrication, maintenance, and shutdown projects.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare BOQs.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare manpower, equipment, material, and subcontract cost calculations.
• Support tender submissions and commercial proposals.
• Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimation stage.

Cost Control

• Develop project budgets and cost control systems.
• Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
• Track labor, material, equipment, and subcontract costs.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Procurement, Finance, and Site Teams.
• Maintain cost records and project documentation.
• Support monthly project reviews and management reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Additional certification in Cost Engineering, Estimation, or Project Management is preferred.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and estimation software.

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator and/or Cost Controller.

• Mandatory experience with international EPC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial Construction, or Fabrication companies.

• Experience in Middle East projects is preferred.

• Strong understanding of mechanical construction, piping, steel structures, tanks, pressure vessels, and maintenance activities.

• Experience in tendering, budgeting, cost monitoring, and project reporting.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent knowledge of cost estimation methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tender/project deadlines.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates must have worked with internationally recognized companies such as:

• Saudi Aramco contractors
• SAMSUNG E&A
• Petrofac
• Technip Energies
• Saipem
• McDermott
• Kent
• Wood
• Similar international EPC, fabrication, or industrial contracting companies.

Immediate joiners and candidates currently available in GCC will be preferred.
