At Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia, we are looking for a Junior Repair Engineer to join our Rotor Shop team, supporting repair and refurbishment activities across Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and Compressor components.
The role offers hands-on exposure to repair engineering, metallurgy, materials assessment, failure investigation, and process development within a specialized engineering environment.
Your Responsibilities
As a Junior Repair Engineer, you will:
- Establish and support work procedures and standards for component repair and refurbishment.
- Support the implementation of Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia quality policies.
- Prepare and revise Quality Management procedures when required.
- Support repair process development, qualification, and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process-related concerns.
- Assist in the metallurgical examination and assessment of materials and processes.
- Perform observations and evaluations using techniques such as visual inspection, macro photography, microscopy, and mechanical testing
- Work closely with Materials and Repair Engineering teams to qualify repair processes.
- Support planning and completion of repair and maintenance activities.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation to communicate project status and results.
- Participate in internal audits using inspection results and statistical techniques.
- Support engineering activities related to steel and nickel-based superalloys, welding, heat treatment, and coatings.
- Provide training and technical guidance to other engineers and supplier vendors when required.
- Work in accordance with health and safety guidelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
What You Bring?
- Degree or equivalent-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Good knowledge of engineering materials.
- Familiarity with laboratory metallurgy, material assessment, and mechanical testing.
- Knowledge of metallographic preparation techniques, particularly for steels, nickel-based superalloys, and coatings.
- Understanding of typical mechanical testing methods, including tensile, fatigue, and stress rupture testing.
- Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with imaging software would be an advantage.
- Good technical report-writing skills.
- A flexible approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
