Job Responsibilities
- Lead structured problem solving for complex engineering and automation challenges
- Decompose ambiguous client questions into clear decision statements and options
- Apply hypothesis driven thinking, scenario analysis, and trade off evaluation
- Translate operational complexity into clear, executive level recommendations
Engineering & Automation Advisory
- Advise clients on warehouse engineering, layout, and automation strategies
- Evaluate when automation enables growth, when it constrains flexibility, and when it should be phased
- Apply flow led, peak aware engineering logic to client problem statements
- Support clients in selecting scalable architectures without prescribing vendors
Sales & Client Engagement Support
- Support commercial teams in shaping high quality advisory and solution opportunities
- Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, and client workshops with clear analytical insight
- Increase client confidence by clarifying assumptions, implications, and risks early
- Act as a trusted technical advisor during senior client discussions
Analytical & Evidence Based Decision Support
- Assess demand profiles, peak behaviour, and operating constraints using structured analysis
- Challenge incomplete or optimistic data through triangulation and logic checks
- Frame decisions around trade offs rather than single optimal answers
- Ensure recommendations are evidence based, not vendor or technology led
Sector Informed Advisory Insight
- Apply sector specific insight (e commerce, retail, aftermarket, MRO, pharma) to advisory work
- Recognize where sector behavior materially changes engineering or automation outcomes
- Tailor advisory recommendations to client maturity, growth ambition, and risk appetite
Internal Knowledge & Capability Development
- Contribute to Starlinks advisory frameworks, tools, and point of view development
- Mentor consultants and managers in structured thinking and engineering logic
- Raise the overall quality and consistency of engineering led advisory work
- Perform other job-related projects and/or assignments that he/she might be asked to do by his/her direct supervisor/manager for special assistance that are often not mentioned in this job description as they arise under specific circumstances.
10 15+ years in supply chain engineering, automation, or consulting environments Required
Experience in advisory, consulting, or solution design roles Required
Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills Required
Ability to operate confidently in ambiguous, early stage problem spaces Required
GCC experience preferred but not essential Required
