Job description

1. O&M Business Development

  • Identify and secure O&M opportunities for:

    • Municipal water & wastewater treatment plants
    • Industrial water and effluent treatment facilities
    • Desalination plants
  • Target:

    • Standalone O&M contracts
    • O&M bundled with EPC projects
    • Rehabilitation + O&M (ROM) opportunities

2. Client Engagement & Key Account Management

  • Build strong relationships with:

    • Government bodies / utilities / municipalities/water bodies etc
    • Industrial clients across sectors
  • Position WABAG as a long-term O&M partner focused on performance, compliance, and cost optimization

3. Proposal & Contract Structuring

  • Lead development of:

    • Techno-commercial O&M proposals
    • Service-level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs
    • Performance-based and annuity-based contracts
  • Work closely with internal teams for:

    • Cost estimation (manpower, chemicals, energy)
    • Risk assessment and pricing strategies

4. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Mapping

  • Track upcoming O&M tenders and asset monetization opportunities

  • Identify trends such as:

    • PPP / Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) projects
    • Increasing outsourcing of plant operations
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and pricing analysis

5. Lifecycle & Value-Based Selling

  • Promote value-added services:

    • Plant optimization and performance improvement
    • Energy efficiency and cost reduction programs
    • Digital monitoring and remote operations
  • Drive lifecycle contracts enhancing plant longevity and compliance

6. Partnerships & Strategic Alliances

  • Collaborate with:

    • EPC teams (internal and external)
    • Technology providers and automation partners
  • Support consortium/JV participation where O&M expertise is critical

7. Transition & Execution Support

  • Ensure seamless handover from sales to O&M execution teams

  • Support mobilization planning, staffing strategies, and initial performance stabilization

  • Monitor contract performance and client satisfaction

  • Education:

    • B.E / BTech (Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental / Civil)
    • MBA (Preferred – Operations / Marketing / Strategy)
  • Experience:

    • 8–15 years in business development or O&M within water / wastewater / infrastructure sectors
    • Proven experience in securing long-term service or O&M contracts
