Business Development Officer – Transport and Logistics

Job Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Officer with genuine, hands-on experience in the road transport, freight, and logistics sector within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The primary mission is to secure new business, contracts, and transport orders—and to operationalize them using the company’s diverse fleet of trucks—serving both corporate and individual clients.

We are looking for an individual who understands the transport and trucking market and operational requirements, rather than a generalist salesperson.

Responsibilities

Continuously prospecting for and acquiring new clients and business in the freight transport sector.

Securing long-term and short-term transport contracts, recurring business, and project-based work.

Targeting companies, factories, warehouses, contractors, and project sites, as well as individual clients.

Building direct relationships with clients and entities requiring transport services.

Understanding client needs regarding cargo type, truck type, routes, trip frequency, and operational duration.

Determining the appropriate service and solution for the client in coordination with company management.

Preparing and following up on price quotations and negotiating with clients in accordance with company policy.

Managing opportunities through to contract signing and the commencement of transport operations.

Coordinating with the operations department to secure the necessary trucks, drivers, and resources.

Working to maximize the utilization and operational rate of the company’s fleet.

Maintaining relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities to increase business volume with them.

Converting ad-hoc or recurring orders into ongoing relationships and contracts whenever possible.

Maintaining and updating the database of clients and business opportunities. Preparing periodic reports for management regarding clients, opportunities, price quotations, contracts, and projected business.

Monitoring the market and new opportunities in the transport and logistics sector.
