Roles & Responsibility
- Inspects incoming materials, including welding consumables and flux, to verify compliance.
- Verifies welding equipment conditions and calibration.
- Checks dimensions according to drawings and codes.
- Conducts fit-up, in-process, and post-weld visual inspections, and oversees welding activities as per approved WPS.
- Witnesses Welder Qualification Tests and Procedure Qualification Tests.
- Monitors welders' assignments, progress, and efficiency, ensuring all required NDT is completed and reports are recorded.
- Supervises repair work following the repair procedure and monitors PWHT as required.
- Performs final verification of welds for compliance, ensuring NDE completion and preparing spools of items for painting.
- Reviews daily, weekly, and monthly welding reports, including weld repair records, productivity reports, and repair rate calculations.
- Prepares and updates welding summary sheets and maintains records of Welding, NDE, and PWHT for accuracy and compliance in test packages or applicable documents.
- Issues nonconformance reports for major discrepancies and prepares punch lists during site walk-downs.
Assists QCE with quality dossier preparation and record management.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent. Specialization in welding will be an added advantage
Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience the oil & gas sector within the Gulf region.
Certifications: Welding Certificate like CSWIP or CWI from certified agency.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in HSE management systems and communication skills. Approval of Saudi Aramco (CBT) and Sabic shall be preferred.
