Job description
We are seeking a highly experienced and certified QA Manager to oversee and govern the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) ecosystem for our Saudi Aramco pipeline projects. This role requires a meticulous technical leader responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Project Quality Plan across all phases of cross-country pipeline infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure that engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning strictly align with Saudi Aramco’s stringent quality requirements, international standards, and contractual obligations.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Quality Leadership: Provide comprehensive oversight of the project's quality lifecycle, establishing a proactive quality culture across site execution, procurement, and subcontractor operations.
- Aramco Liaison & Compliance: Serve as the primary interface with Saudi Aramco Inspection Departments and stakeholders. Coordinate and facilitate technical reviews, quality audits, and pre-commissioning assessments.
- Standards Governance: Oversee the absolute implementation of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), Saudi Aramco Materials System Specifications (SAMSS), and Standard Drawings across civil, mechanical, welding, and E&I disciplines.
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs): Formulate, review, and secure client approval for project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Procedures, ensuring all hold, witness, and review points are strictly executed.
- Defect & Audit Management: Lead internal and external quality audits. Identify non-conformances (NCRs), analyze root causes, implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and track them to closeout.
- Welding & NDT Oversight: Ensure strict governance of welding procedures (WPS/PQR), welder qualifications, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies critical to cross-country pipeline integrity.
- Reporting: Deliver comprehensive weekly and monthly quality progress reports, KPI metrics, and technical quality documentation to senior management and the client.
Requirements:
Education: Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Metallurgical preferred) or a relevant technical discipline.
Aramco Approval: Must possess valid, prior Saudi Aramco approval as a QA Manager, with deep familiarity with the SAPMT (Saudi Aramco Project Management Team) inspection systems.
Experience: Minimum 12–15+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically in cross-country pipeline construction, with at least 5–8 years in a senior quality management role.
Certifications: Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001:2015). Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, BGAS-CSWIP, or NACE/AMPP) are highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software; deep knowledge of SAES, SAMSS, ASME, API, and ASTM codes.
Leadership: Exceptional ability to direct large-scale QA/QC inspector teams, laboratory personnel, and specialized third-party inspection agencies.
Standards Expertise: Thoroughly conversant with Saudi ARAMCO Engineering Standards (SAES), Schedule "Q" quality requirements, and international quality governance systems.
Multidisciplinary Knowledge: Well-versed in the quality nuances of pipeline execution, including ROW clearing, cold/hot bending, stringing, mainline welding, field joint coating (FJC), hydrotesting, and cathodic protection.
Communication: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to interface between field inspectors, construction managers, and client quality representatives.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and familiar with latest digital quality tracking, material traceability systems, and documentation archiving.
