- Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, including troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections of production equipment (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, blow molding machines).
- Assign tasks to technicians and monitor performance to ensure timely and effective maintenance.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed and properly documented.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify signs of wear or malfunction.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for spare parts procurement and inventory control.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new machines or equipment.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards during maintenance activities.
- Ensure maintenance work is carried out in accordance with lockout/tagout procedures and machine safety protocols.
- Report and investigate maintenance-related incidents or hazards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, breakdown logs, and inspection reports.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Assist in updating and maintaining equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians to improve skill levels and technical competencies.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among staff.
- Conduct toolbox talks and briefings before maintenance tasks.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Technical certifications in maintenance, or industrial equipment (preferred)
Experience and Skills
- 3–5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting (plastic industry preferred)
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead technician role
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of plastic processing machinery (e.g., injection molding, extrusion)
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
- Good organizational and leadership skills
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Strong safety awareness and compliance mindset
