Company Overview

AlShahin Metal Industries is a leading Saudi company specializing in the design, fabrication, and supply of structural steel buildings and pre-engineered steel structures for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia and GCC countries. The company operates large-scale steel fabrication facilities and has been serving the market since 1978.

Job Summary

The Senior General Accountant will be responsible for overseeing core financial accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, and delivering accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements. The role will support strong internal controls, statutory compliance, and audit readiness while maintaining accurate financial records for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper classification of financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany balances, accruals, fixed assets and key balance sheet accounts, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
  • Review journal entries and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting schedules for financial reporting purposes.
  • Support ERP implementation or enhancement initiatives for the GL module.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi VAT regulations and reporting requirements issued by Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
  • Monitor adherence to local statutory regulations and financial compliance requirements in Saudi Arabia.
  • Support the preparation of documentation required for statutory filings and regulatory reporting.
  • Participating in Zakat and VAT audits ensures regulatory compliance
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and audit supporting documents.
