Job Description:
The CAD Operator I – Civil / Mechanical / Instrumentation / Electrical / Interior Desing is an entry-level position responsible for supporting discipline engineering design and drafting activities. The role involves preparation, modification, and maintenance of basic engineering drawings using CAD tools, in compliance with project requirements, company standards, and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, modify, and update basic civil engineering drawings using approved CAD and design software.
- Interpret and apply standard engineering drawings, symbols, and notations for discipline works.
- Assist engineers and senior designers in developing layouts, plans, sections, and details.
- Perform basic redline mark-up incorporation and drawing revisions based on review comments.
- Maintain organized drawing files, document control practices, and revision histories.
- Coordinate with other discipline CAD operators (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, etc.) for multidisciplinary alignment.
- Support as-built drawings and documentation updates as required.
- Adhere to project schedules, quality guidelines, and internal procedures.
- Follow data security, confidentiality, and safety guidelines at all times.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Basic understanding of Discipline engineering concepts and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of standard engineering symbols, legends, scales, and annotations.
- Familiarity with engineering design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent CAD tools).
