Job Description: Nurse Specialist

A Nurse Specialist is an advanced practice nurse who provides expert clinical care within a specific area of nursing practice, such as critical care, oncology, dialysis, cardiology, emergency care, or perioperative services. The role combines direct patient care, clinical leadership, and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes and support healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced and specialized nursing care to patients within a defined clinical area (e.g., ICU, oncology, renal, OR, or emergency department)

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate complex patient care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

Monitor patients with acute, chronic, or high-risk conditions and respond to clinical changes promptly

Administer medications, treatments, and specialized procedures according to protocols and best practices

Interpret diagnostic tests and collaborate with physicians on treatment adjustments

Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatment plans, and ongoing care requirements

Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for junior nurses and healthcare staff

Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, infection control policies, and hospital regulations

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical research activities

Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in medical records systems

REQUIREMENTS:

2-year experience
