Job description
Review project standards, specifications, drawings, and technical documents to ensure alignment with project objectives and requirements. Review design-build submissions, drawings, calculations, design reports, operating manuals, and technical documents to ensure compliance with client specifications and project standards. Review contractor submittals, including materials, construction methodologies, subcontractor prequalification documents, and related technical submissions. Support the Lead Civil Engineer and Senior Structural Engineers in preparing, reviewing, and consolidating technical reports, investigations, root cause analyses, and engineering status reports. Assist in maintaining project budgets, schedules, and compliance with the approved scope of work. Provide structural engineering support to multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, MEP, and project controls disciplines. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of design and engineering activities. Attend and witness inspections, testing, and acceptance activities as required. Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to structural engineering matters. Provide technical support to construction sites and assist in resolving design-related issues. Identify discrepancies, evaluate technical challenges, and recommend practical engineering solutions. Participate in safety meetings and review installation demonstrations of proposed materials and construction systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering design and construction.
- Proven experience in the design and delivery of major heavy civil or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and foundation design.
- In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics and structural engineering design practices.
- Experience using structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, Revit, CAD, WALLAP, Oasys Slope, TEDDS, SuperSTRESS, FEM, or similar platforms.
- Strong technical knowledge of engineering design software and industry best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Experience in rail, metro, transit, or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
- Familiarity with Saudi Building Codes and local regulatory requirements.
- Experience using AutoCAD and related design software.
