Millwright Technician
Job Summary
The Millwright Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and alignment of mechanical equipment and machinery in industrial facilities. The role involves ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safe and efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, dismantle, and relocate industrial machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on rotating and stationary equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform troubleshooting to identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Repair and replace defective components such as bearings, gears, shafts, couplings, seals, pumps, compressors, conveyors, and motors.
- Conduct precision alignment of pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment using laser alignment tools.
- Perform equipment inspections and condition monitoring activities.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance teams, and contractors to complete maintenance activities efficiently.
- Participate in plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance projects.
- Identify opportunities for equipment reliability improvement and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Millwright Technician in industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, or similar environments.
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment maintenance.
- Experience with precision alignment, balancing, and equipment installation.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
