Electrical Design Engineer

SaudConsult is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design activities for LV/MV/HV & Substations, power transmission, and distribution projects across the Kingdom.

The candidate will play a key role in delivering safe, reliable, and compliant electrical engineering solutions for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, Building & Infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of HV and MV substations including single-line diagrams, control and protection schemes, grounding, lighting, and cable routing.
• Prepare detailed design packages, technical specifications, and datasheets for electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, and cables.
• Perform electrical load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies using ETAP or similar software.
• Perform Scada/protection systems Design
• Review and approve design deliverables prepared by electrical engineers and draftsmen to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Interface with other disciplines and ensure all electrical design requirements are properly coordinated.
• Provide technical support during tendering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Conduct vendor document reviews and ensure equipment compliance with client and project requirements.
• Participate in design review meetings, HAZOPs, and technical clarifications with clients and third parties.
• Ensure all designs adhere to Saudi Aramco, SEC, IEC, and international standards.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong expertise in substation and power system design.

• Experience working with Saudi Aramco, SEC, or major EPC clients.

• Excellent command of AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP software, SCADA, Protection system.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and teams efficiently.

• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

• Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
