- Identify emerging opportunities, policy trends, and government investment plans.
- Define business growth targets and strategic priorities for the rail segment.
Business Development & Revenue Expansion
- Build a strong pipeline of rail projects across design, construction, maintenance, or systems domains.
- Lead bid/no bid decisions, proposal strategies, and commercial negotiations.
- Drive revenue growth through key accounts and new market segments.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Develop relationships with transport ministries, metro corporations, rail authorities (e.g., IR, DMRC, RRTS), consultants, and contractors.
- Serve as senior point of contact for strategic clients and large programs.
- Represent the company in industry forums, tenders, and public consultations.
Project & Portfolio Oversight
- Provide strategic guidance across project portfolios to ensure client satisfaction and commercial success.
- Coordinate closely with delivery, engineering, and operations teams.
- Oversee performance metrics, cost controls, and risk management.
Thought Leadership & Market Positioning
- Monitor global rail technology trends digital rail, signaling, rolling stock, BIM, predictive maintenance.
- Lead branding initiatives, whitepapers, and participation in industry events.
- Position the company as a preferred partner for major rail programs.
Internal Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with finance, engineering, strategy, and delivery teams to align market goals.
- Mentor business development staff and account managers.
- Support capability development and hiring for rail expertise.
About you
- Strong understanding of rail systems:
- Track, civil structures, and depots
- Signaling & telecom (ETCS, CBTC, ATP, interlocking)
- Rolling stock and traction systems
- Operations, maintenance & safety standards
- Familiarity with government procurement models (EPC, PPP, DBO, O&M).
