Our ideal candidate will be veteran of the rail industry proven experience leading projects in excess of $50 million in capital value and winning pursuits of similar value in the Gulf States and the wider Middle East region. While domain knowledge is important, it is equally important to have developed interpersonal skills as client interaction will be critical to success in this role. Finally, our ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor and partner with clients and contractor s alike. Trust and ability to follow through is critically important to Hatch and as a spokes person, this position must be trusted above nearly all others.
Typical duties and responsibilities of this position are:
- Identify pursuits, develop win strategies, build winning teams and secure work
- Work as part of Global Rail Leadership team to build the practice
- Develop and manage major technical programs including control of scope, schedule and budget
- Organize, manage, and inspire staff to achieve program objectives
- Manage owner and stakeholder interests
- Present ideas, concepts and details to owners, contractors, and others.
- Coordinate and build partnerships both internally with Hatch and externally with partners to achieve goals
- Review work of others and provide detailed and constructive commentary in a professional setting
- Promote Hatch through personal interactions and industry events, and develop opportunites for new work
Requirements :
The appropriately qualified candidate will have the following core competencies and required experience:
- A Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- Masters degree in Engineering also preferred
- Professional Engineering Licence and PMP strongly preferred
- Fifteen (15) years of experience in the rail infrastructure, vehicles, signaling or systems integration industries with at least five (5) of those working in the Middle East.
- Demonstrable experience in identifying and securing work in excess of $5m annually as proposal leader
- Eight (8) or more years and three (3) different projects of multidisciplinary systems project management experience on projects greater than $50m in capital value.
- Demonstrable experience in specification development, engineering procedure development, standards development, financial management, estimating, etc
- Knowledge of railway operations, system safety, RAMS and associated requirements
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written, including technical writing) is required
- Demostrable experience in training, mentoring and developing staff and educating clients
